How we write study notes

Every note is written and reviewed by the ExamPass CY editorial team, which also prepares the practice questions, explanations and flashcards on this site.

We work from primary sources: the Cyprus AML/CFT Law (Law 188(I)/2007, as amended), CySEC directives, EU regulations and directives, and official guidance such as the European Banking Authority's guidelines. Each note lists the provisions it relies on, with links where an official text is available online.

Where official sources disagree and we cannot tell which is right, we leave the disputed figure out rather than risk teaching the wrong one. Where a rule has changed recently, the note gives the current rule and, where it helps, the earlier figure and the date it changed, because some study material still shows the older version.

Every note answers one question. It opens with a short answer, sets out the facts worth remembering in a table, explains the reasoning and lists the mistakes candidates commonly make. Everything is written in our own words; we do not reproduce course materials or publish exam questions and their answers.

Where an important change has been adopted but has not yet taken effect, such as parts of the EU Anti-Money Laundering Regulation that applies from 10 July 2027, we mention it in a separate box and describe the rules in force today.

Each note shows the date it was last reviewed against the law in force on that date. We aim to recheck notes when the underlying law changes, and we update the review date whenever we do.
