About our regulatory updates
Our regulatory updates explain new publications from Cyprus and EU authorities in plain English: what changes, who is affected, what to do and by when, with a link to the official text. They are written by the ExamPass CY editorial team for people who work in, or are preparing for, regulated roles at Cyprus investment firms.
What we cover
We cover publications that matter to Cyprus investment firms and the people who work in them, in these areas:
- Investment firms and MiFID II conduct rules
- Anti-money laundering and countering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT)
- Crypto-asset service providers and MiCA
- Funds: UCITS management companies and AIFMs
- Market abuse and prospectus rules
- EMIR, derivatives and T+1 settlement
- Digital operational resilience (DORA)
- Prudential rules for investment firms (IFR/IFD)
- Payments and e-money, where relevant to investment firms
Which sources do we monitor?
We follow the publications of these authorities and link every update to its primary source:

How are items selected?
We publish an update when a publication changes what a Cyprus investment firm, a certified person or a compliance or AML officer has to do, sets a deadline, or explains how the authority reads an existing rule. We do not usually cover investor warnings or institutional news. Enforcement items report the facts as published by the authority, without commentary on the firm or person concerned.
How are items written and reviewed?
Our regulatory updates cover publications of CySEC, the Central Bank of Cyprus, MOKAS, ESMA, the EBA, AMLA, the FATF and the EU institutions. Every item is reviewed and approved by the ExamPass CY editorial team before publication, is dated, and links to its primary source. We report what the authority has published and keep our own commentary clearly separate. We do not accept payment for coverage.
Each update is written in our own words from the official text and follows the same structure: a short answer, an “At a glance” box, what applies now and what applies later, the actions to take with their deadlines, and the sources. Dates, numbers and deadlines are checked against the official text before publication. Where an update touches the CySEC exam syllabus, it links to the matching study notes.
Corrections
If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and add a dated note at the end of the item (for example, “Corrected on 12 October 2026: the deadline is 31 December, not 31 January.”). Corrections to items already e-mailed also appear in the next weekly digest. To report an error, write to support@exampasscy.com.
Using our updates
Our regulatory updates are a general information service published by ExamPass CY. Each item is a summary, prepared and reviewed by the ExamPass CY editorial team, of material published by the authority named in the source line. It is not legal, regulatory, tax or investment advice, and it is not a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any financial instrument or to use any service. It does not take account of your circumstances. Summaries are selective and may not reflect later changes; only the official text published by the authority is authoritative. Read the official source, and take professional advice where needed, before acting on anything you read here. ExamPass CY is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, CySEC or any other authority mentioned. To the extent permitted by law, ExamPass CY accepts no liability for decisions taken on the basis of this content.
Reuse of official material
We report facts, summarise in our own words, link to the official documents and quote only short, attributed passages. We do not use the logos of any authority. Where a source's terms require it, the following notices appear under the update:
